Australian Tourism Awards 2008 - Hosted Accommodation Winner
Crystal Creek Meadows win accommodation award
Story: ABC News
A New South Wales south coast business has taken out the Hosted Accommodation category at the Australian Tourism Awards.
The owners of Crystal Creek Meadows run four cottages set on about five hectares of bushland in the Kangaroo Valley. They got the opportunity to represent New South Wales after winning the state tourism awards last year.
The owner, Sophie Warren says she was thrilled to accept the award in Melbourne. "We had no idea of course, no one ever knows and we won it," she said.
"As far as we know in our category which is Hosted Accommodation, it's the first time anyone has won it in New South Wales.
"So it's really, it's very competitive, it's the best of every state in Australia."
The National Parks and Wildlife Service took out the national eco tourism category for a second year running for its Montaque Island Conservation Tours.
